Why not, though? Did I miss something? I don't see why they'd require you to change your refresh rate to 85hz, or to use an LCD monitor.

Cause an LCD can support a higher res? while 85hz lets me use a res higher than 1024x768

But 1024x768 is, unless I misremember badly, easily enough to use more than one window at once. I'm digging pretty far back in my memory, but I think I started at about the time I went from 640x480 to 800x600.
