Kanji 1264: 賭 (GAMBLE) - extra dot or not?

I recently got up to kanji 1264, 賭 (gamble). When it came up on ANKI it had an extra stroke not mentioned by Heisig.

Is this an error on Heisig's behalf? Perhaps people with later editions of the book can tell me if Heisig has corrected this error?

Or is it just one of those weird characers where the extra dot is "optional"? I did look up Jim Breen and found Breeny gave it an extra dot too.

Or is it just due to a different font being used?

Here's some examples of kanji which include 者:

署著煮者 Joyo kanji
渚堵箸猪 name kanji
賭屠藷瀦 other kanji

For Joyo kanji all fonts remove the drop.
For non-Joyo kanji it varies from font to font and also from one character to another. I.e. outside the Joyo kanji there is less consistency. (賭 is non-Joyo.)

Thanks for your help. So does that mean for writing the non-joyo kanji, 賭, it's acceptable to write it both ways, with or without the dot?

I may have just answered my own question. I pasted the kanji into Microsoft word and scrolled through the fonts, and about 14 (out of about 200) fonts removed the dot. They were mainly Chinese fonts, but also Arial Unicode MS removed it too.
So think I'm satisfied that either way is fine.
