This site is amassing lots of data that could be used as a tool for learning Japanese in a slightly more fun manner when you just can't bear to look at another flashcard ;-)

Well, I have a very simple - and I hope fun - idea. Someone has to choose a kanji, take the most starred story for that kanji and copy it here. The idea is that someone else has to guess the kanji that corresponds to that story, and then copy and paste the corresponding keyword and a new story for another kanji.

I think you may use another story rather than the most starred, but you have to consider that other people must be able to guess the kanji from that story, so be careful.

If you want to make it really random, you can use www.random.org to get random numbers.

Of course, you have to edit the story and erase the keyword for the kanji.

Ok, I'll start:

When water was tossed on the protestors (a march of mouths), the numbers began to [GUESS THE KANJI!].

Good luck! smile

減 dwindle! I'm pretty sure, anyway, since I did that one first a couple of days ago. =P

Okay:

"The [GUESS THE KANJI!] on crown street is the tallest I have ever seen."

and the kanji is...

雌 563 FEMALES!

Stop spooning turkeys. Spoon [FEMALES!].

I have to recognise that I didn't use that story, but it was just impossible not to recognise it.

Now, if you let me, I'll use a story of mine. It is my favorite one and I find it specially interesting since it has proven useful even though it doesn't even mention the keyword .

A terrible yakuza taskmaster is bringing up his infant. Every time the infant does something wrong... well, you know what happens to yakuzas when they do something wrong.

Guess the Kanji!(R)

Oi, we can't let this thread disappear! I've got one that I found, though it doesn't mention it's components specifically, it is a visual description:

Situps.

Guess the kanji!

The answer is 腹 ABDOMEN (464).

Maybe a bit easy, but which Kanji corresponds to this story (one of my all-time favorites, (c) 2007 by dingomick):
