I'm playing through Soma Bringer for DS right now.  Despite the very generic character designs, the story, music (Mitsuda), and gameplay are all very good.  The game has a glossary, and also the ability to replay a crazy number of key story scenes.

There isn't a 台詞集 that I can find on the internet, so I was thinking of starting the project myself, since it would be a great learning ability.  Does anybody want to help?  The story bits and glossary are broken up into nice ~2 paragraph chunks which would be perfect for easy division of labor.

Send a PM or respond to this thread if you're interested.

So, would you be posting the Japanese and then wanting people to help translate it? Or, are you wanting people to help you take the game script in original Japanese and put it on the net? I assume the translation would be fairly easy to get started, but to get the script from game to computer seems like a lot of work.

Could you clarify exactly what you want to end up with, and how you think Joe Schmoe can help out? I'm interested, at least in finding out more... (^_^)

I have no interest in making a translation.  What I'm seeking to do is get it in text form, so it's easier to look up words, copy example sentences, run it through kanji stat programs, and perhaps make a translation if somebody else wants to do that.  But to be clear, this is a data entry project.... typing the glossary and key event scenes into a text file.

I realize this isn't a small project, but it's also not as big as you would probably think at first.  Like I said, the glossary and key scene replays are broken up nicely into small chunks.  With a few people working over the course of a few months at a regular pace I think it is doable.

Is there any update on this - it sounds quite interesting. If there's already some work put in it'd be cool to see it.

I don't have the game but I do have a DS and studying via games seems like a fun way to go.  If this starts, let me know and I'll search for the game and pitch in some.

I wasn't sure if anybody was interested, and I've been busy lately (and also bought too many new books, manga, and games) so I haven't been putting in any work.  But I'll try to get on track inputting a few chunks a night and post progress.

Google docs might be the best way to help if several people want to add entries here and there.

I've created a formatted text dump of the glossary.

A formatted text dump of the script will be trivial.
