#578 - Sayeth

I'm a bit confused about kanji #578. It looks very similar to sun, and Heisig says that the only difference is the size. Does he mean size in the sense that this one is drawn noticeably larger than sun, or is he simply talking about the proportions (sun seems a bit taller, not quite square).

And if I see these kanji used in text, will I probably be able to tell them apart easily enough?

Sayeth looks a bit wider to me, with the middle line not quite reaching the right side.

WWJDIC only returns 4 results for 曰, so I have a feeling you won't be seeing it a lot anyhow.

The difference is in gap between the middle line and the right vertical stroke.

I've seen 曰く a few times in the limited amount of books I've read.
