I'd love to have some sort of a widget I could post on a weblog, etc., that would show my progress somehow. Has anyone thought of doing anything along those lines?

I really love this site, by the way. I keep going back and forth between working on my conversational Japanese and my kanji, so I usually need a little review when I get back to it. This site helps with that immensely!

Someone wrote a facebook app.

It's pretty basic, but it's a start I guess.
It shows an applet on your profile "Andrew knows 1142 kanji" and a random selection of 9 kanji of those you know (they don't link here though, which would have been nice). And when you update how many kanji you know it updates your mini-feed with something like "Andrew knows 32 new kanji".

I think there was a discussion in another thread, but it seems that fabrice doesn't want external widgets/whatever polling the database to generate stats as it would put a heavy load on bandwidth and server processing power.

The facebook widget actually has nothing to do with this site since you just enter in your highest Heisig frame number and it displays that number basically.
