Just to confirm, you're abviously using Japanese>Japanese since you passed the 1000 sentences, right?

I hope that's a joke.

I don't follow that guy's advice. I don't think J-J definitions are particularly beneficial at this stage. I've learned to not just believe everything I'm told. I followed that guy's advice for a month and it didn't work out, so I'm not following it anymore. Please don't link me to anymore of his articles as I've read them all.

So, you're sensible to links, huh?! Try avoiding the internet for a while, my friend. People still send letters if that's your doubt. Links goosebumps! Those are new.

I really don't think there's much advantage in doing primarily J-J dictionary lookup until you're at least upper-intermediate level. (Even now that I'm pretty advanced, I don't usually do J-J dictionary lookup unless it's a word I can't find in a J-E dictionary or I need clarification on the nuances -- if I only have so much reading time available, I would rather be reading what I actually want to be reading, rather than reading dictionary definitions.)

This.  The advice in that link is ******* awful--though I'm not sure if it's delivered in seriousness.

You can take the level test to find out! It only takes a few minutes, is more accurate than the JLPT, and operates on its own definition of "understand".

I think we got that you're mocking it the first time. No need to keep doing it.

If you want to keep going, try adding some content to your criticism, like perhaps WHAT is wrong with that test.

I have had over 80% consistently in the last week. Why? Because I've incorporated mnemonics into my new cards! The mnemonics fall away after a while, but they're INCREDIBLY effective. I've solved my problem ^_^
