Having only been studying Japanese for a short amount of time, I've been on a quest to find some easy reads and I finally came across some... so I thought I'd share. http://chokochoko.wordpress.com/the-great-library/ there are articles ranging from JLPT5-JLPT1. Only problem is they aren't translated, but some people on Lang-8 have translated the easier ones. Hope this is useful to some of you.

This is fantastic. At last I can practice Japanese through books. You're the best.

I highly recommend this site for easy readings.

That's great. I was able to figure out the meaning of several words from context, which I've hardly ever been able to do before, the material was too far above my level. Very helpful.

Reading topics happen every now and then, I know I've recommended the Chokochoko Library before. It's good but it doesn't have a lot of content in general.

YomuYomu Bunko series I really like, each of these books have audio, which is quite useful.

Then for more advanced people you have Read Real Japanese and Breaking Into Japanese Literature.

And for the more technical minded people, there is subs2srs/morphology with some children's anime.

We probably should find a proper place to put reading materials of various levels on the Wiki.
