Changing Key words

I would like to see the option of changing the keywords for several reasons.
- sometimes the keyword is not the best keyword.  If you look the kanji up in a dictionary you will find keywords that are much better.  (ex: probe)
It is frustrating to spend time learning a keyword that eventually almost has nothing to do with its meaning in Japanese.

- many of the English words are too difficult.  I would like to change those to a synonym. (ex: sultry, destitution, facsimile,...)
It is rather frustrating if you do know what the kanji means but can`t remember the meaning of the rare word in English.

The RTK system is very good, but not perfect.  Maybe a small box with other peoples keyword next to it would be interesting.  Then you can see that also other people don`t really like the keyword.  Eventually there will be more and more people prefering a keyword closer to the real meaning.  Reviewing should go smoother because you would know actually all the English key words.

Except fot that, this website is great!

If you use Firefox, you should take a look at the user-contributed Greasemonkey scripts.  In particular, the Substitute Keywords script does just what you're looking for.

I totally agree that we should be able to change keywords.  For me, I would change keywords like "Spring" to something like "Spring (as in water)" because I always write the kanji for springtime when I see Spring.  It is the whole reason I switched to using Anki for reviews.  Although, I think this site is better for Heisig reviews in everything but that one aspect.
I know fabrice even said that "elegant" would be a better keyword than "gracious".
The greasemonkey is good but I do my reviews on 3 different computers and 2 of them I can`t get the greasemonkey.

Thank you Kieron.
I installed firefox and greasemonkey (the whole animal kingdom) and I am able to change the key words now.
Now I can consider this website perfect.

thanks again
