I have looked, but there does not seem to be anyway to look at what stories someone (or yourself) has posted for the public to see. I do not post my own stories often, but I would like to look at how people have voted on them, and modify/delete them if they are unpopular (no point in useless stories). Some of you may say go through them one by one and check, but that would mean going through 1500 kanji just to find my 100 or so stories that I posted for the public to see.

So, you mean something similar to the "Show all posts" that you can do in the forum, then?
I'm interested in your idea of being able to show all the stories that you have *publicly* posted, as well as the one about the scores for them. It makes the story writing process all the more collaborative, and also it might be nice to know when you've come across a particularly solid story (one high in *'s).

I know that Fabrice gets a lot of "could you add this, take away that" comments (we all really do appreciate the work he has put into this site)... but it is evident that he is a good webmaster who is interested in updating and improving his site. I think a lot of the comments are constructive and provide good feedback for him.
On that note: in addition to being able to view all your publicly shared stories, I think a really popular feature would be a list of the members who have received the most stars, like a top 10 (or 100, or whatever).
Yes, yes, we're all really vain. But it would be nice to recognize some of the members who have contributed a lot to everyone's learning process, and perhaps provide some motivation as well.

Danieru, I'm with you on the "Fabrice gets loads of feature requests" bit. (^_^)
I think a lot of us are really looking forward to seeing a beta version of Trinity, and are well aware that that is taking up most/all/180% of his time for now. Other stuff, well, it doesn't hurt to suggest. Though, I bet we all look like a buncha whiney freeloaders at times, eh? *grin*
Anyway, best of luck with the studies, folks!

I hear you and I realize that the Study area is a favorite place to hang around and that extra features like most starred stories, top contributors and such would be a great addition. I'll have to decide what to prioritize this week-end.
In the meantime :
- list of stories posted by <username> : I'm not sure what is the real need there? Do you prefer to use stories for one particular member?
If so, having a separate list doesn't seem all that efficient as you are supposed to work only on those stories you have failed?

Agree.
I think those features are best if they encourage posting more quality stories, ie. quality rather than quantity. I took some notes today and one thing that came out is that such lists would rank by number of starred stories or overall total of stars, but not by the number of stories posted.
Summary of my notes :
STUDY "FAILED" CARDS :
- a completely redesigned list of failed cards that also indicate, for each kanji :
- the latest starred story for the given character : regardless of the star count, to know what new propositions there are that at least one other person foudn helpful
- the all time favortie (top stars) story for the given character
This would cover the suggestion of "tagging" characters where you need a better story, as this table would let you see the latest propositions, and if you sort on the date, you could just restudy whichever kanji for which a new/updated story was posted which suits you.
I'm not sure the same list would be useful for all kanji regardless of failed/learned status..
STUDY AREA (default entry page) :
- View all my starred/reported stories : excellent suggestion, as it leaves the responsibility in the hands of the author, which is a good thing, where the author can choose to adapt stories that were reported, and see which ones helped other members.
- Top contributors list : do people need to see this everytime they arrive in the Study area? Maybe I need to create a separate statistics page for this. The reason is the top contributors list will not frequently change since stories don't get voted overnight, and a new quality contributor will not appear in the list all of a sudden.
To summarize I'm seeing 3 distinct lists so far :
- The "failed" list which purpose is to help rework on failed kanji in a more efficient way
- The "my stories" list which purpose is to help user manage his own shared contributions and respond to reported stories
- The "top contributors" list which acknowledges contributions made by members

Thanks Fabrice:
those three lists sound great. I would personally get great use from the personal side (reviewing my shared stories, and working on my failed kanji), and looking at the all-star list of contributors would definitely be interesting.
I just flipped through a couple hundred frames to check out some of my shared stories (I've never done that before). I did find one that quite a few people deemed offensive, or otherwise, because it had a number of 'reports'. I was more than happy to remove it from shared status...
I'm looking forward to being able to flip through all my stories. A little trip down memory lane (at least, 4 months worth).
