Finish Genki 1 than you can start mangas if you want. It won't be friendly though. If you want to be safe skim through many parts of Tae Kims for grammar, than go into manga so you can spot when you see a grammar point you don't understand so you can look it up online.

For anki I would put the kanji in the front of the card. Kana and meaning on the back. Good luck!
