Apologies if this has already been posted, but I went searching for Japanese TV online, and I stumbled across a Gigazine article (http://gigazine.net/news/20130220-tv-japan-china/) that references this site:

http://www.fengyunzhibo.com/space/japan.htm

I tried a few channels, and it seems to work. Not all channels load, and it takes a few minutes to get a good cache running, but I was able to view TBS, NHK教育, and a few others.

Enjoy it while it lasts.

Seems to work fairly well, although these things tend not to last very long unfortunately.

Yep, we'll see. This one appears to have been around since at last February, so there's hope.

it randomly doesn't work for me and just sends to the main website.

However I do like http://youtubeowaraitv.blog32.fc2.com/ for shows it stays pretty up to date. and you always start at the beginning but miss commercials which is part of the tv culture you get from watching the streaming site. Also some links on that blog will only be available in china or something like that when that happens i search for it at www.dailymotion.com and can usually find it. I also signed up for the free account at video.fc2.com which allows you to watch 14 clips or shows a day but you are still low priority compared to paying members so it can be annoying occasionally.

If the videos are hosted on youku, there's a Chrome extension that defeats that: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/deta … kjeighnddk

I absolutely love this site and have been using it for a long time. Sometimes channels are not available, but they are relatively good at getting things back up in a reasonable time. However, I have been recently worried about the relative frequency of multi-channel outages.

Thanks for the report, imabi. I actually haven't had much of a chance to use it yet for an extended period. Between CrunchyRoll, podcasts, books and news, I have more material than I know what to do with (which is an excellent problem to have). I plan to queue it up when I just feel like vegging out, 日本語-style.

horriblesubs basically rips all the stuff off crunchyroll and puts it out for torrent with subs... if you're looking to do some sub2srs with that source
