I wasn't sure where to put this message, so I figured I'd stick it in feedback. I've been studying RTK1 since November, along with Pimsleur and Japanese for Busy People I. My stated goal is JLPT 4, but really, that's just something to keep me motivated. I love Japanese culture and I really enjoy the language, so I'd like to become as fluent as I can in all areas. (Besides, if I ever meet Otsuka Ai, I need to be able to profess my undying love for her without stammering! ~_^) I'm on chapter 7 of RTK, and I've been studying completely solo. I found this site completely by accident, when looking up Heisig and RTK1 in wikipedia just for the heck of it.
All I can say is, wow.. Thank you so much, Fabrice. For someone like me, who struggles so much learning by myself, holding down a 50 hour a week job and trying to spend time with the wife and my little boy, any encouragement is great. This website is a lot more than encouragement. It feels like someone just gave me a very, very expensive gift to help with my studies. The website is great, and to have a forum with other people who maybe have the same issues that I have, fellow learners to lean on for support? It's priceless. So, thanks again. I've barely scratched the surface of the site at this point, because I have to keep putting my laptop away to eliminate distractions while I try and study my grammar and do pimsleur.. But, I'll be spending a lot of time here now that I know about the site. I hope to use my (limited) knowledge to help others here too!
