I have seen that there is a script floating around of 日本人の知らない日本語 Episode 1. But all links seems to be down. Does anybody have a script of any of the episodes? I sometimes find it difficult to know exactly what is being said.

Thanks

Yeah smile What gets me is how stupid and unnatural they make the foreigners look. Like some sort of pets. I did like the manga, and it was sort of the same thing there, but not as overdone, I guess?

In the USA, we do the same with foreigners. Just think of the stereotypes
we put on Asians, Russians, Africans, Hispanics, and just about anyone else in TV movies.
Just look at "Memoirs of a Geisha" and tell me that Japanese people are accurately
represented in that movie.

Americans can barely tell the difference between Asians from different countries.
They might as well be interchangeable.

Probably most societies have a warped view of foreigners.
Natives live in a bubble and rarely experience life in other countries.
This leads to an unrealistic perception of foreigners.

I agree with everything you say, in terms of generalization. I wasn't trying to say that I think this show in particular is trying to purposefully warp the perception of non-Japanese people for selfish purposes. It seems to be the same when foreigners appear in other Japanese shows, this is just what TV is.

It's just too much when this show in particular is almost completely about foreigners. It becomes surreal.
