Just admit that you were too zealous in attempting to find an opportunity to attack me that you ended up forgoing reading comprehension while ironically suggesting that I read past the first sentence of the wikipedia link in question. The sooner we do that, the sooner we can avoid the whole thread off-topic sidetrack situation.

umm... this is awkward. i think it's you who may need to look over your reading comprehension, and / or basic propositional logic, because it doesn't mean what you apparently think it means at all. But it feels like it might be going too far if i start trying to explain this to you here. I can if you really want me to though.

So... can we conclude from this thread that Qwerty has a "white fetish"? and is perhaps having trouble reconciling that with his interest in japanese culture (something that often coincides with "asian fetish").

@ qwertyytrewq

White females and Japanese/Asian culture... the most unlikely of combinations.

I'm getting sucked into a black-hole, and it seems to be down to my interpretation of your "intro". As I've mentioned, plenty of white girls are popular in Japan. You seem to be intrigued by the reverse of this: the idea of white girls liking Japan.

Hannah Minx is popular in Japan? So is Lady GaGa and countless other singers/actresses/models/etc. Hannah Minx likes Japan? So do countless other girls outside of and in Japan (and Lady GaGa). Putting them together tells us Lady GaGa nothing about interracial relationships and whatever else that the two individual facts didn't already. Just enjoy the videos.

NB: I'm not "ageist"; I just associate high-school with cliques of people who're identified by their interests. I feel justified with the goon comment though.

Quit dancing around the issue. If you don't want people to think you're a misogynist, then quit acting like one.  Like someone else said, if your only interest in a woman is how good she looks, you don't actually value women.
Mods, this thread is really creepy, insulting, incredibly sexist, and has the whiff of troll about it. Not to mention that the OP is not listening when actual women who *gasp* are interested in Japan (although some of us don't count if we're not up to his standards of beauty) are telling him this and just keeps steam rolling the issue about how he needs videos of hot girls talking about Japan.
I keep seeing threads like this here, and every time it leaves me with a really nasty taste in my mouth.  I come here to learn, not to watch people have their race/gender/sexuality put down and belittled.

Okay, I will and I have. Would it make you feel better if I excluded the introduction so that people can enjoy the videos without the politics?

Sorry but calling someone a "soulless goon" is not nice, particularly if she's Christian, and even if it's true (which you don't know is true since you don't personally know her). As far as I'm concerned, calling someone a soulless goon (and worse comments found in the respective video comments section) is worse than people enjoying these videos.

But I think everyone should take your advice: enjoy these videos.

Intriguing comment. Is it even possible to have a white fetish? After all, white males and females are often the unspoken-of "standard of beauty", even in non-white countries. We have all sorts of derogatory names for white males interested in Asian females (yellow fever, etc) but the reverse is viewed with at best encouragement (that Asian guy has a whtie girlfriend! Good for him!) and at worst, disinterest/indifference.

This is Japan which has links to China, and obviously, most people care about face (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Face_(sociological_concept) even on faceless mediums (message boards).

I'll use this opportunity to say no, I don't really want you to. That way, I can walk without loss of face, and so can you (so you don't need to get the "last word" in, your words in another thread).

That's assuming their strawman is true: that my only interest in a woman is how good she looks. If you read the first post again, I mentioned two criteria: a woman's physical aesthetics AND her interest in Japan or Japanese culture (personality). Isn't that what counts? Her personality (and her looks)?

All or the majority of my posts in this thread are civil, with good spelling and grammar, and most importantly, on-topic. If there's anyone that should be crying to the mods, it should be me for the off-topic trolls.

Firstly, if you were really sincere in trying to learn Japanese, by far the most effective method is to not go on internet forums. Sometimes, I need to take this advice myself.

Secondly, nobody forced you to click the thread nor read it.

Thirdly, I'm not a fan of censorship. I see plenty of other posts or threads that are not to my taste but I let them speak. For example, I am not a fan of nadiatim's libertarian ideology which he occasionally promotes and which in my opinion, does far more harm to the world than this thread. But I let him have his say.

Seriously, do you live under a rock? What is wrong with you?

No, white does not constitute the standard of beauty, except perhaps to arrogant racist dinosaurs who, whaddya know, fetishise being white.

Nobody should have to explain this to you in 2013.

What does "white" even mean? Is there anyone today who has a "bloodline" which is "pure white" these day?

In case anyone missed the rhetorical aspect, I think labeling gene pools by colour is something fine for old-money patriarchs discussing their financial investments in the "Dutch East Indies", while having one of their "boys" deliver them an ice-tea, to help cool off the devilishly humid South African wet season heat. But in the real world, people aren't champion bitches breed for show, or fine dogs fit for the stud farm.

In other news, have you heard what those dastardly Germans have been up to? ...the lot of them, Emperor and kings alike! The times we live in.

I'm a racist, a sexist, and every other label under the sun. Okay.

I'm going to try a different approach: Hereafter, I will refrain from replying to any off-topic posts (which is probably what some of you want anyway) and instead focus on what the first post intended to do.

In the interest of fairness, qwertyytrewq, will you please post a photo of yourself so that I can judge if you are hot?

If you are really, really good-looking, it is OK if you are creepy. Women adore good-looking, creepy guys. (Ted Bundy was good-looking and creepy and really didn't like women either.)

I kind of always wondered what would happen if the worlds of 4chan and a women's studies program collided. It's actually pretty fascinating... Like marvel vs. capcom, or 2 memes enter, only one meme leaves.

I agree.

This thread is so creepy. Makes me wonder if the OP is just as creepy in real life.
Like those weirdo stalkers you hear about on the Internet.

These are basically videos that the OP will masturbate to (and
who knows what else). The OP might as well look for porn.

For the love of God, someone please close this thread

I don't know what OP's thinking, but if he didn't mean to creep others out or look like a full-blown misogynist, he might want to reread his own posts...

I thought I was white because my skin is what people generally refer to as such, but then people tell me I'm not because my dad isn't, so I don't even know anymore.

I thought it was easier when white and black/brown just referred to the colour of your skin and not some 欧米-centric analysis of one's ethnic heritage.

I generally find it easier to go with the one overwhelming fact: what am I- human. It only makes sense to differentiate in light of genetically similar sub-groupings in respect to more commonly and less commonly present genetic and physiological markers, for easier means of discrimination and application of more relevant medical treatment, etc.

When it comes to identifying people as individuals; why is it any easier with skin colour as opposed to hair colour, or limb length? I would be referred to as a "white male", but my skin looks nothing at all white. Its a strangely accepted arbitrary means of classing peoples which if used in any and every other context, if I were to say I was "white", someone would respond "you need to get your eyes checked out, mate".

I mean, if we were going for the easier option, why get caught up in all the politics and bullshit and just say it how it is? We're not colours, we're humans. Most of which most of the time are clad in synthetic materials covering up our skin.

I think the need for words that describe what people look like is self evident... I don't have a problem with "white" meaning "light skinned but not Asian looking" or "black" meaning "dark with predominantly African features" in this context. It's a non issue.

Homo Sapiens Sapiens are African great apes. "white", in Australia at least, never means " light skinned but not Asian looking". "white" is essentially "white" Americans, "white" British/German/French/Scandinavia; peoples more or less from British heritage (Australia, America, etc.). People here who go out of their way to call someone "white", will also call Australian aboriginals, "abos/coons", and aboriginals of many other nations, "niggers", " Europeans" as "wogs", etc. It might not be as common in more " educated" families, but these are in the minority, and the minority aren't the ones in this case making a negative impact on the lives of others.

" Race" might be the same issue where you come from, but in Australia, there is a very grass roots undercurrent of racism, and the continual need for arbitrary "colour" distinction only helps this insidious meme propagate. It is a very real issue; one people often are unable to see because they are so used to this general racist attitude. For example, I'm three different workplaces I've worked at, labouring/general entry type roles, I have been singled out as "different" because of my lack thereof or disagreeing attitude towards calling people "blacks" or "wogs" or "nips", in relation to nonsense lunchroom discussions.

This is not an uncommon event.

If I were you I'd be surprised this thread is still as decent as it is. If this were any other forum this thread would be in a pretty dark place.
