When studying new words, I often find myself looking at multiple sentences in my subs2srs deck in order to see the word used in multiple situations, since this helps me get a better understanding than just a simple dictionary entry. I also often have multiple i+1 sentences for that new word and thus could choose which sentence to learn from, but usually end up just using whichever one Anki happened to show first since that requires the least effort, but this is probably sub-optimal.
I'd like to streamline this process in some way, but I'm not sure how to best go about it and thus am looking for ideas. That is, when I review a new card I like to have a button/shortcut that:
1) somehow displays other cards with the word I'm learning. perhaps filter this by showing the cards for the N easiest sentences, or limit how many other unknowns those sentences can have, etc.
2) choose one of the cards displayed and learn from it instead (ie. insert it at the top of the new-card queue and pop off the current card)
The simplest solution is to have it just redirect you to the card browser with a search filter already in place, as that gives you a nice list layout, but you still have to manually preview each card so it's a bit laborious and not time efficient.
Another idea I thought of was to take all the video clips for the sentences and play them in sequence (as a playlist, so you can go back to a previous clip) and then intercept some keyboard key to "accept" the sentence for that video.
Thoughts on these? Can anyone think of an even nicer way to do this?

I tend to do this a lot by hand especially when I'm about to fail a non-learning but immature card. Unfortunately for me it usually just leads to me adding more examples because I rarely have more.

2a) Insert all cards into the learning queue based on Anki settings. (Either in the order entered or randomly.)
2b) Create a new temporary deck with all of the cards that follows the normal Anki 2 rules of temporary study decks. This would allow you to either switch to this deck immediately or save it until your current timebox or review sessions ends.

Yeah, picking the right sentences to learn is always a bit of work for me. I always have to type in lengthy search terms into the anki browser.
Usually search with something like this:
And this doesn't always leave the best results. Sometimes I need to changed the search terms several times and dig into i+2 or more sentences just to find anything in my limited sentence collection.
Anyway, I'm imagining something pretty complicated, but I'll try to best explain my thoughts.
I'm thinking up a way to browse your library of sentences with much more ease.
Something that lets you view nested unknown words, how many sentences you have for each, and also lets you preview and listen to each sentence.

So here is an image I mocked up in Photoshop. The first sentence displays the main expression, and lists all of it's unknowns. The superscript number could be several different things, in this case it is how many other examples you have with these morphs. Other things this could be changed to could be what it thinks your ease of learning would be for that morph, or how many n+1 sentences you have in your library with that morph.
So if you click on one of the unknowns, it would go into your library and list all the examples out.
This also includes an audio button so you can listen to your sentences if they have audio.
I'm sure this idea can be expanded upon also to include extra useful information. Just some initial thoughts on finding the best sentences to study with. Hopefully it makes sense.
