I am trying hard to buy some japanese kindle books for my android tablet (from outside japan).

I have a japanese account and I set a japanese address (why they do not allow us to buy from outside japan is a mistery to me since I am willing to pay).
I can buy successfully free books, but when I try to buy not free books it always returns me an email with this message (very general by they way):
必須: お客様の Kindle の注文 #ITEM-ID に問題があります。
I tried to change credit card, but still it does not work.

I am also aware that when I buy, my address must coincide with the one registered for my credit card (I set the japanese address as the general one to not make amazon complaining about national restrictions).

I read in another topics that a lot of you can buy.
Did you have similar problems before?

I just linked a UK account with a JP account which uses a Tenso.com address. Is the adress you used real?

I have only made 2 purchases as my vocab level isn't strong enough to enjoy reading on my phone (dictionary lookups are dull!)

Did you get it working yet?

I have two suggestions that may or may not help. Make sure you change your address for all your Amazon accounts to a Japanese address, not just your domestic US/EU account. It doesn't matter that they are linked, you have to change them separately. If you have ever ordered anything direct from Amazon Japan by post then your JP account might still have your domestic address which can cause problems.

Secondly, I would advise using a proxy/VPN to get a Japanese IP. Not sure if this is essential but it gives some peace of mind. Also if you are having problems it is worth a try.

I've been buying Japanese Kindle books from Amazon.jp for a while now, and none of it involves changing the address of my U.S. account. Also you don't need a proxy or IP.

Be careful. I wouldn't do that.

In one of the other threads, Amazon Japan sent a letter to someone that basically says they have to show them current Japanese ID. Amazon tends to ban users forever and completely ignore them. You're better off using a VPN and getting a Japanese IP to be safe.

Here' s a copy of the letter that Amazon sent:

Hello from Amazon.

We are writing because the home country registered to your Kindle account may not match your country of residence. Due to publishing rights, the home country registered to your account must match your country of residence.

To continue purchasing titles available for Japan, please send a copy of your valid government-issued identity card, passport, or a utility bill received within the previous 90 days to our secure fax line:

Within the US: 206-266-1838
Outside the US: (00)1-206-266-1838

For your security, you may obscure the passport, ID, or account number. However, we ask that you do not obscure any portion of your name, your address, or any expiration or statement dates.

Your fax will be converted to a secure electronic image that will never be printed. Once we have completed the verification process, we will delete the image.

If you have moved to a different country, you can update your home country in the Manage Your Kindle section of your Amazon account (www.amazon.com/manageyourkindle):

1. Login to amazon.com/manageyourkindle.
2. Click "Country Settings."
3. Click "Change."
4. Choose an existing home address from your account or enter a new one.
5. Click “Update.”

We may restrict your home country setting if you continue to purchase from the catalog of titles for Japan without completing the verification process.

We appreciate your cooperation.

Regards,

Account Specialist

Geez, it's like they're begging for people to just download ebooks for free elsewhere.

I don't know how I'd cope not being able to buy manga if I had to return to the UK.
