Is there a way to export my data because my sentences won't load today?

thanks

vocab reviewing goes fine, but sentences still won't load. Is there anybody else who uses Trinity and has the same problem?

Yeah, my sentences haven't been loading for the past two days.  It just sits there at that twirling dot/loading screen.

Hmm strange, I checked again and it's working fine on my account. What browser are you using guys? Also try in another browser, without Greasemonkey plugins if there are any, and let me know if that works better.

I have a Mac, and use firefox. I turned off Greasemonkey and still didn't work. Under the sentences it says generated in 0.005 seconds, but the actual sentence never turns up.
Then I tried Safari like you suggested and had no problems! So I will be using Safari for the time being. I have some catching up to do.
Thanks for the reply!

I've tried with Opera and SkyFire on my mobile, and IE and Firefox on my PC.  None of them work (well, Opera on my mobile has never worked, but the rest of them always have until two days ago). I wonder why it's being so weird?--and it's just for the sentences portion.

Can you confirm/infirm this happened just a couple days ago? It was working alright before? I know I updated a Javascript but something really trivial, and can't reproduce the problem here.

For me -like I wrote somewhere else- the last couple of weeks sentences loaded a lot slower than before (at least on some days). And since 2 days ago they didn't load at all in Firefox.

Yep, this is now my third day of the sentences not working.  I wonder if it's just Jasta and me with this problem? Maybe there are others who just haven't said anything yet. I always save my sentences for last each day because they're the most fun. Lately though, I've had to settle with the moderate fun of vocab (as opposed to the torture of the RTK part.) smile anyway, here's hoping that the site redesign comes quickly and that this problem disappears with it!

I use Firefox, and I just tried the sentences without a problem.  I don't use Trinity much yet, so it's possible I haven't tried whatever it is in the sentence area that doesn't work.

Yay! It works with Google Chrome! Still nothing with all the other four browsers I've tried, but at least Chrome works.  That's weird that not very many other people are having this problem.  I don't really understand why one computer would render something so differently than another.  It can't be just one computer though, because it doesn't work on any of the four computers (or four browsers--and on each computer I tried more than one browser--) that I've tried it on.  It can't be just my profile either, because I tried it with my wife's account and it didn't ever load either. Honestly I don't understand this problem, but I hope it just goes away, because come January I'm not going to have access to any computers but my mobile, and the sentences currently don't work on any of my mobile's browsers.

Hmm here's something to try. Load up Trinity in Firefox, start a sentence review where it freezes for you. Go Tools > Error Console, and let me know if there's anything red in there (ie. "Error" rather than "Warning"), or anything that does not end with "Declaration dropped". Please start Firefox from fresh and don't load any other sites as those may also output errors into the Console.

I know that last week I "cleaned" my computer, could it be I deleted something by accident? I don't remember touching or moving the firefox map though...

Very sorry about that, it was my javascript update last week as I suspected. Sneaky error that is. I couldn't see it because I have the "Firebug" developer extension installed, so the "console" object is present and this error doesn't trigger. Also some browsers have a native "console" object as well which hides the problem.

The page should work now.

Starting to use this with RTK2 keywords as an initial test set of vocabulary.

Would it be possible to integrate both EDICT and ENAMDICT (proper and place names?) into the vocabulary source list?  RTK2 certainly includes a number of these type of words which are not currently available through the site.

Really appreciate it -- I love being able to drill words, sentences, and characters through a common (and very attractive!) interface, rather than switching between multiple pieces of software.

Additional hands up for off-line functionality, however...!

@colinsky : the Trinity "dictionary" is based on EDICT. ENAMDICT is not included. The search in Trinity is very unforgiving, there is no wildcards for example. So in doubt I recommend to enter the word as hiragana, or try a different word ending (adjective, verbs), and 95% of the time you should be able to match something.

---

The development of Trinity "alpha" is frozen. I have been rethinking the flow of the application many months ago. The alpha version is nice to use in a traditional edit falshcard / review flashcard way, but it doesn't really implement the concepts I had in the first place. The new workflow is also mcuh better suited for making a succesfull stand alone site (hopefully).

The "alpha" version is still active on this site, because there's a few regular users who've entered lots of data, and it doesn't really cause me any trouble to let the app run. The new app has a different workflow, but the basic functionality is very similar, so the current user's data will be ported over.

I really have no idea when I will start working on the new version. I just know I haven't given up on it yet. Right now I'm busy rewriting the old site's code, something hopefully I will never have to do again. Not really hard, just a big waste of time because this site was my first php project and web app. When this site runs on a proper framework (hopefully within next month), is when I'll start looking at Trinity again.

That said, if you find a nasty bug somewhere, I try to fix it asap.
