There's something wrong with the "Study" section

I'm using the "alternate keywords" script, and I don't know whether the problem is with the page, the script or both.

I can use the "next" and "rev" buttons, but can't use the form to enter a   keyword or frame number, 'cause when I hit enter nothing happens.

Also the buttons "star", "report" and "copy" seem to be broken.

Am I the only one experiencing this problem?

Works for me. Maybe try restarting your browser?

Perhaps you have something that blocks scripts, like the NoScript addon for firefox?

Do you use the Greasemonkey script?

I have been using the script from a long time ago, and this is the first time that I have this problem. And yes, I restarted my browser (Firefox) and nothing happens.

It may be something with the last update or something... =/

I just realized that it's main function is partially broken. I can see keywords modified previously, but when I try to modify a keyword now, it just doesn't stick and I just can't replace the original one.

Oops. It's late here and I didn't notice that. I don't use the script so I guess that's your problem.

For woelpad, in case he wants to look at it :  I don't remember updating the Story page recently, other than fixing the <i> into <em>'s (as you told me by mail), I did a minimal update on the page structure, main content, just removed a div... but that shouldn't affect the Greasemonkey script so I don't know?

I had a problem too, trying to install the most recent version of the greasemonkey script.
It's curious, because the link posted on the first post of the thread didn't work, but the one that woelpad put at the end of the thread did (or maybe it was the other way around).

It could be that there's a small inconsistency on the links.

EDIT: Also, the star, copy and report buttons work for me, but with some delay. I have to wait some seconds for them to register.

woelpad's latest update might fix this up.

Indeed it should. If not, be sure to report back. I also upgraded a few other scripts in the past week, none of them crucial, but if you like to be on the edge, check out Woelpad's scripts. All Firefox, none Opera.

In cases like these, deactivate the script by opening the Greasemonkey management dialog (Tools -> Greasemonkey -> Manage user scripts), selecting the script and clearing the Active checkbox in the lowerleft corner. Then reload the page, check the original behavior, draw your conclusions and reactivate the script in a similar way.

You're probably exiting Firefox the wrong way, using the window title bar's x button instead of the close command in the file menu. Quoting an old post:

Warning: You need to explicitly close FireFox (using File -> Close) first to get your changes. When closing, make sure that you're not locking prefs.js, i.e. not have it opened in a text editor, otherwise you will lose your changes, which may amount to all your changes if you're in the habit of restoring the previous FireFox session everytime you restart your computer.

They're identical. 10000 in 1, you downloaded the moment I was uploading? Improbable though.

I did as you said, and the failure is not on the script, but on Firefox, as Internet Explorer (yuck) has no problem with the study page (besides not using Greasemonkey, and being IE).

I'm not sure, but I think this can be related to Firefox last update (I'm using Firefox 2.0.0.11).

I'm using Firefox 2.0.0.11 and have no problems. I also checked out the Substitute Keywords script, but that didn't cause any problems, either.

You might try disabling Greasemonkey completely and, failing that, each of your extensions in turn.

Thanks for your advice.

Unfortunately, I tried deactivating every single extension, and nothing changed. I even realized that now I can't edit my stories. This situation is new to me, as I always used the study section without any problem (including the "alternative keywords" script).

I had the same problem.  I got rid of Veoh which is sort of like Miro.  Miro does wierd things to my computer too.  Anyway, then I reinstalled firefox and greasemonkey and now it's fine.  But, it could have been something else.  I'm not a computer person.  good luck.

I made a backup of all my extensions and was ready to uninstall Firefox, then I tried using the study section again before uninstalling/reinstalling, and everything was ok again. Even the Alternative Keywords script is ok again... I have no idea what happened... if it was a problem with some extension, it should have got fixed inmediately when I deactivated all of them and restarted FF...

Well, I'm puzzled with this, but fortunately everything seems to be ok again...

I had this problem yesterday too, though there are no extensions or plugins installed on this machine. When it happened, I had a lot of tabs open as well. Restarting Firefox cleared it up.
