Hey there,
I haven't been around recently because I've been busy moving to another prefecture here in Japan - among other things.
I was also busy because I created a new blog. It was a lot of work and it's still a rather new blog (less than a year old) with about 60 posts so far.
Yet I'd like to introduce it here, I hope that's ok.
If you're interested in living or working in Japan, but especially if you're interested in coming to Japan as a tourist, I'm sure it will be an inspiration!
I've been in Japan for many years now and have travelled to almost everywhere.
For example, I've been to 45 of Japan's 47 prefecture and this winter I plan to visit the last two.
I've been to around 80 Japanese castles - and want to visit at least 100.
I also love to explore the "non-mainstream" Japan!
Many people know about sightseeing spots in and around Tokyo, Kyoto and Hiroshima, but have no idea about many other awesome places out there!
For example, have you ever heard of or been to "Battleship Island" (軍艦島) or "Cat Island" (田代島) before?
Have you seen the "Mononoke-hime Forest" that inspired Hayao Miyazaki, located on Yakushima?
I want to introduce those places and also encourage people to visit the Tohoku region that was devastated by last year's tsunami and earthquake.
I also try to write about things that I'm often asked or things of daily life from my own point of view, so you'll find posts such as:
How I made it to Japan
Dreaming of a life in Japan - The Reality
Insects and other pests in Japan - some are dangerous
Why are you interested in Japan?

Thank you very much for your attention!
