i recently decided i wanted to commit to learning japanese. i'm more interested in being able to read it than anything else. so far i know hiragana and katakana. after seeing a lot of praise for RTK i ordered it on amazon, and today it came in the mail...
...but i just don't get it! i read the intro and checked out lesson 1, but i don't really understand what i'm supposed to be doing. :S
i don't really get the whole "stories" thing and (since that seems to be the main basis of this technique) i don't really understand how i'm supposed to go about using the book.

just for the record, i generally don't feel that i am a very "slow" person, but could someone  please just explain this to me like i'm 5 years old? :P
