*This was originally a "Post your recent milestone achievement here" entry, but turned out as a blog entry. I think this forum suites it because I wrote about what might be of more benefit for someone at some point. Excuse me If I ranted too much

Today, for the first time ever, I've met a Japanese person, and talked in Japanese in front of people!! And that was a truly fantastic experience!
I've finally decided to take a Japanese class! Even though I had a bad image of language classes from this forum, I decided to register for an almost free Japanese class (run by volunteers, someone from here and the other is Japanese) because, as opposed to earlier, I though the class would be a valuable add to my Japanese study.
Even though it's a very slow pace compared to self-study, I'm already not investing much time for learning Japanese (packed my schedule with 3 other things that I don't want to give up).
I though it would be a great motivation since I don't know any person in real life who's learning Japanese, and it was! Also meeting a Japanese person is very exciting
I've started to learn Japanese in 2009, but I stopped after finishing RTK1 and doing some of Tae Kim's guide, because I was too stressed at the time. I tried again earlier this year, but also failed to complete RTK lite because of stress too. Now that I've finally managed my stress, I started again. I've been doing RTK lite for about a month now and reviewed the Kana, and I think this time there will be no stop, but I'm moving at a slow rate.
I'll speed it up once I finish two of what I'm doing now (studying for something else and Gym)
This turned out to be a blog entry! O_O Excuse me!
Anyway, I think signing up in this class was a very good move, the teachers are awesome, there is events where I'll meet more Japanese people, and the pace is slow. I think I should've done this earlier, and shouldn't have excluded other options based on prejudice. This is the lesson to be learned, never underestimate something without trying it or really thinking about it, and one should manage his resources in light of his schedule.
I hope this will be of some benefit for someone.
