Hello all, I am glad to see this site is still up.  It seems that my massive Christmas donations helped tongue.  Anyways I have decided to slowly chip away at my kanji which currently stands at 996 review cards in the 7+ box and 1051 in the failed box... tongue.  the reason why I am starting back up is because i was casually reading my japanese manga and I realized i had lost a lot of my kanji recognition.  Plus i still do one day want to be fluid in all aspects of japanese.

So, wish me luck big_smile.

I'll join you in your review misery (joy???).

A couple days ago I had around 750 reviews. Today I have 434. Maybe I can get that down to 100 today, which would be amazing.

Then it's onward to finish RTK! I was at 1500 previously, but I need to go back to 1350 or so because I don't remember them.

Good luck!

I haven't actually stopped. But I feel like I have. I am only adding about 5 a day lately. I am still in the first half.

Welcome back, and good luck!

This is bad thinking. The key to all of this stuff is consistency. Set a reasonable goal of doing X reasonable number per day, and then just do it like that. I've cleared 2000+ card backlogs in vocab decks this way.

I find that 100 or 200 cards are pretty good numbers to stick to.

Hey! Good luck!

It took me around 5 years to finish RTK1. Two years since I was at 600 or 700 and (re)discovered this site. But since last September I went from somewhere around 900 to 2130. The key was constancy. In my case, it was way better to add two kanji every day and do small reviews than adding 50 one day and then not doing anything for four or seven days. I must say I had very little time to dedicate to this. Of course, using the right SRS tool is the master key (for me, it was a poor man's j2me app that I could take everywere with my cell phone -no anki plugin for it-, although now my life has changed a lot and I'm using this site's SRS and planning to switch to Anki when I start with vocabulary).

When you've finished RTK1, which I'm sure you will ;-), don't expect to feel like the king of the world, it is more like "hey! I finished! OK, I'll grab myself a cup of coffee and move on to the next challenge..." But that's a good feeling too, if not too spectacular.

So, again, good luck!

EDIT: OK, I missed the point completely, you've already finished RTK1... :-$ Anyway...
