Hey! I started RTK a few days ago, and I'm enjoying it so far, but I don't exactly understand how I'm supposed to deal with forgotten kanji. For example, if I get 5 kanji wrong during a review, should I wait before I study them again? Because so far, I've pretty much remembered them (at least short term) right after flipping the card. And also, after studying them, how long should I wait until I review them? Reviewing them right after failing them or right after studying them seems pretty useless.

Thanks!

I study them right away (or more often as you say, remember them right after flipping the card), and review them the following day.

A lot of people review the next day after a study/fail.

I recommend using anki to review them. Anki will tell you when to review them and the more you get the character right, the longer until you'll have to review it again.

I try to review the ones I forgot after 30minutes-2 hours after I get them wrong.

I guess it doesn't really matter when you review it, but you want to get it back into the SRS pile as soon as you can. I like to put it back the same day I got it wrong.  I do it right after I finish reviewing all the orange due cards because sometimes it's not that it's my memory, but the story is not working and needs tweaking.  So when I review, I always ask myself why I got it wrong and take a look at the story and if I can make it better.  If it is the story then either you do it today or tomorrow or the day after doesnt matter, just that it wont be in the SRS pile.  Although yes sometimes the story can't be helped and you just have to commit the story to memory but that will be taken care of by SRS.  I don't spend too too much time on stories I just have to memorize, just review it and move on because in the SRS, for such cards I might keep getting wrong but like after about 3-4 times of it cycling back to the forgotten pile, it starts to stick on its own over time.
