japanese speech

@howtwosavealif3

Its not tameguchi. Its just plain/formal as he is using である at most places.

@vileru

内容は結構深かったですね。深くなればなるほど、審査員からの質問も結構難しくなるでしょ?

@massu_no_egao

You still haven't answered my question? And if you want, I can put up my speech as well. Its not something that I am bragging about but I did get first place and went to Japan for 15 days Smile

@atreyu
As a result of my nervousness (which is possibly the result of my deep introversion), I don't even remember if they asked me questions after my speech. But they did ask questions a week later at an event for the contestants, volunteers, and judges. Somehow, I managed to answer them after much hesitation searching for the right words to express myself.

Anyway, I'd love to see your speech too. I see a lot of potential for this thread to become an incredible resource for speech contestants.

"Atreya"です Smile

Anyway, the contents of my speech isn't as deep/emotional as your speech. It was about my first day in college and how I was bullied by my seniors presented in a comical way. The story was fictional though and presented entirely in desu-masu form. I will post it later once I return home from work.

Its alright lol. You don't have to call yourself ばか just because you didn't realize I am from the same country as well Big Grin

Anyway, やっぱり文部科学省(MOSAI)が実施するスピーチコンテストか~私の推測が当たりました!
When is the speech contest? I completely forgot about putting up my speech. Sorry >_<
Will do so after I get home from work today...

I am from Chennai btw. I have participated in the MOSAI speech contest southern region twice and lost both times. The speech contest that I won is conducted by the institute where I am studying/teaching Japanese called ABK-AOTS DOSOKAI and they conduct it annually. The winner gets to go to Japan for 15 days, all expenses paid Big Grin

Yea will do... ^^;

Since the speech contest is on November 3rd, you have a lot of time to prepare for it. So the qualifying round will be held @ Bangalore right? You have to make a draft first, then get it corrected till you arrive at a final version of the speech and memorize, memorize till you are sure that you won't slip up even if you get stage fright & become nervous in front of the audience.

The competition is usually tough but if your speech is good and you get the intonation right, I am sure you can win. From my experience, for the MOSAI speech contest, the judges usually like some serious topic which makes you think a lot with a little bit of humour thrown in.
