Views are views, not total number of users who viewed this thread. If you reoky it would be two views, and viewing each new page would qualify as a different view. So someone who goes through all 4 pages and replies would be 5 views, not to mention people who are following the thread for some reason or another. It might be a greater fraction than you think

But yeah, threads on here still generally seem to have about 100 more views than replies

Perhaps views counts guests also. Not to mention lurkers (many of which seem to have come out of their shell just now...)

I was planning on lurking, but there's a good selection of threads with topics I can relate to anyway, why not chime in. But I've stopped checking the forums, finding it distracting at times

You could try using Leechblock. Block it during the day, and maybe put a time limit at night or something.
