program that stream live TV?

I've had luck recently with LiveHD (previously Hikari) on an android TV box. You have to pay for this setup (see http://japannettv.com), but I find such services a little more reliable than thre free options, which tend to disappear after a month or two.

My mother in law is coming down next month and wants me to subscribe so she can watch her japanese programming she is used to getting TV Japan.  Doing some research on Japannettv I'm looking at isakura or Hikari HD to subscribe to.  Anyone have any experience between the two?

Also how is the quality, have a sony 4k with android tv so would like to be able to get some quality.

LiveHD (aka Hikari) works well for my device. Video quality and audio quality are both good; however, the tv in our bedroom is only 720p at the moment, so your mileage may vary. I never tried Sakura so I can't say.

The thing I love most about LiveHD is that it offers 14 days worth of time-shifted content. That's double the amount of its competitors.

Most of the apps on japannettv offer a one day trial. Try a few out and see what works best for your device. I had a lot of issues with various apps not playing well with my cheap android tv device, and had to go through a number before I settled on LiveHD.

Thanks for the advice,

I was able to try LiveHD and isakura. I also tried to run New Home but that did not work for me.

Comparing the two it was harder to get around in LiveHD on my TV. There was significant lag when switching channels and scrolling through the menu.

isakura was pretty quick when scrolling and selecting channels, menu layout is easy to navigate and the quality of the video was noticeably better than LiveHD. Very clear and crisp even in fulllscreen. I will be subscribing to isakura as it seems picture quality and speed in scrolling and loading of channels was better.
