It's not a program but just click on 国外. The channels are temperamental but the quality is good.
This is pretty awesome, thanks for sharing!

I wonder how long it will last though; hopefully for a good while Smile

I tried looking around the site source, and didn't find anything too useful (but then again, I'm not a pro at that kind of thing :p).

Thanks for poking around the site on my behalf, it's much appreciated!

Seems to be a Chinese streaming site, but I'm not sure if it has anything Japanese-related. I noticed a (cheap) Android tablet I bought had the app already installed, but I can't really... read anything on it :/ Perhaps someone else might have better luck though.

Yes, I've used that site before. As I recall, it used to host Japanese content, but ever since the island dispute between China and Japan turned nasty, the content strangely disappeared.

Any alternatives/backup sites to watch just the normal public NHK channels?

117yes.com seems to have some new disclaimer at the top of their site, along with a nicer interface.

According to Google Translate, the new note on top says something like "Site controlled by Channel: Japanese Department, (and other channels)". Perhaps that means it's allowed (by law) to stream Japanese content?

Also, does anyone else seem to have random lag and dropouts on that site? After a while, whatever I'm watching (I usually have TBS on) will just stop and buffer for a while, until I reload the channel.

Same here. I usually watch nhk or fuji, so I guess the channel doesn't matter.

Hmm, all Japanese channels seem to be offline on 117yes.com?

Working fine for me. Must have been temporary.

Edit: Google translated the announcement at the top of the page. Says the Japanese channels have been restored. Smile

Not live TV per se, but there's tons of video available at video.fc2.com

The quality on the streams at 117yes is amazing. I hope this site last awhile.

Looks like they've split off the Japanese channels to http://www.fengyunzhibo.com/space/japan.htm a few hours ago.

Is anyone else unable to load the streams from fengyunzhibo? The loading bar stops about halfway through. I tried to find the stream in the page source, but there's no mention of it at all, so it must be stored elsewhere.

Also, KeyholeTV has been having connection issues lately. I tried to open it this morning and it wouldn't connect. I just tried again and it worked perfectly. Yesterday it worked fine, but the day before it was also having problems.

Just checked them from here and had no problems with them loading. Maybe it was just a temporary maintenance issue.

So, since it's clearly a problem on my end, what exactly do you do for it to work?

For me, it shows a loading screen after I click on a station. I've tried three different browsers, including Firefox, Chrome, and *shudder* IE8. I've even tried connecting through a few different VPN servers, just in case.

No matter what, it proceeds to tell me (according to Google Translate) that the video head failed to load.

KeyholeTV is working fine now. Must've been maintenance or something, but fengyunzhibo isn't.

Well, to begin with, I'm using Safari as my main machine is a Mac. Other than that, I have no special settings enabled (proxy, VPN, etc.). I just rechecked NTV and Animax, both buffered then worked as always.

Hmmm... That's weird. I just tried it in Lupu and it worked fine... Must have something to do with my Windows7 installation. I guess I'll just set up a VM for it then.

Thanks for confirming that the site is actually working.

EDIT:
A Lupu VM didn't do anything... Guess I'll just have to stick to my laptop until I figure this out.

Unfortunately, these streaming websites are easy coming and easy going... I hope that's not the case for fengyun.

Looks like all the channels that are down at the moment will be up again on march 2nd.. due to some updates..

Google translation: "Japanese LIVE Fengyun we do change the system today. I plan to resume service at midnight on March 2. I apologize greatly for the inconvenience.".

So hopefully we'll get them all back Big Grin

That is probably the best Google has translated ever...
Anyway, I'm glad that it'll be back up soon.
