Sorry for making a topic aobut anki, but I'm sitting at my computer for like 3 hours already, googling, searching and doing everything i can to somehow import my rtk progress into anki, but just nothing works. Whichever guide I use it just doesn't work for me and I'm hopeless to do anything, crying on my chair lol... I'm downloading plugins, decks but when I important rtk_flashcards.csv, nothing happens and there are still those 3000 kanjis from the deck I downloaded as it was said in a guide. Im begging you, please help me, how do I get to see only cards I already studied and not all of them? Sad When I try to important it just says that nothing was imported and nothing was changed... I know I can't post here about anki, but this https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgro...um/ankisrs is just totally unhelpful and I'm getting totally depressed, no idea what to do now. Sad

If I haven't had lost any hope to fix it myself, I wouldn't have created this topic, please understand me. Sad

Are you using Anki 1.2 or Anki 2 beta?

In either case, the basic procedure is to go to the RevTK export page and use the 'Export Flashcards button to download a .csv file with all your card data.

Then you go to Anki and go File > Import..., select the file you just downloaded and choose csv as the file type. Then you'll see a screen on Anki which allows you to map the csv columns to fields in a deck.

What part of the procedure are you having trouble with?

I just downloaded anki 2 to see if it's any better, but it's even more confusing x.x I'm using 1.2.8. I downloaded that plugin, which let's me import .csv files, I downloaded rtk1-3 deck, I open that, press import and get
Code:
Importing complete. 0 facts imported from rtk_flashcards.csv.
Log of import:
Progress information for 0 cards loaded.
Processing 3007 cards...
0 cards modified, 3007 cards skipped.
Progress update complete.
If I import without opening rtk1-3 deck i just get
Code:
Importing complete. 0 facts imported from rtk_flashcards.csv.
Log of import:
There are no Heisig cards in the current deck.
any idea what I'm doing wrong?

I had this issue, not sure how I fixed it though... :\

I tried reinstalling the deck, I also re-downloaded the export file.. I think one of these might've helped. If not I have no idea what I did.

If you want to send me your exported progress (rtk_flashcards.csv) using the email link on the left, I'll import it to an RTK deck for you.

Nevermind, I found another way how to do it, I just suspend every kanji on those already made decks except for those I have learned. There are no stories or anything, but I can just open my notebook or this webpage even though it takes some time to find it. Better than nothing. Smile But thank you.

Er, so you did not figure out the anki problem but just decided not to use the RvTK deck?
I'm in the same boat. If I find out a way, I'll update the thread with my results.

*bump* I figured part of it out.

1. Under the "Manage" tab on koohii.com, hit "export flashcards."
2. Download anki
3. Do NOT download the plugin for koohii. It is no longer updated and does not work with the new anki release.
4. Create a new deck in Anki.
5. In Anki, import the file you just downloaded from koohii.com

6. A window on Anki will pop up asking you to align fields. Take a look at the file from koohii - a "field" is whatever is in between commas (if you are looking at it in text) or in each column (if you are looking at it through a spreadsheet).
Mine looked like:
1, 一、"one," bunch of random numbers
2, 二、"two," etc etc

So on the Anki window, I listed these as...
Field 1 - Tag (aka, the Heisig number)
Field 2 - Back (aka the kanji answer)
Field 3 - Front (the testing code word)

7. Hit import.

To add your stories/notes...
1. Go back to kanji.koohii.com/study/mystories and export your stories and notes.
2. Reopen your deck in Anki. Now go to "edit" and hit "Card Layout." Go to the "Fields" sub-tab and add a field for Stories and Notes. On the "Card Template" sub-tab, make sure to indicate where you want that field. I wrote it like {{Story and Notes}} and put it on the back of the card. Close this when you're done but keep the deck open.
3. Go to File and import your new file.
4. This is where it is a little tricky - you have to align the fields again so anki knows which parts align with the others. In this case, I basically ignored all the fields except for the "story" information.

Now...
I haven't figured out how to get Anki to remember my koohii history - all my repetitions are back to 0. This isn't a problem for me perse because I wanted to do a run through of the entire RTK again. But...this will be annoying for most people.
