Using Linux/Unix as my development environment

I just found out about the andLinux project.

I wonder if it would be viable to run with Git, Vim and a good shell?

It wasn't updated since 2009 it seems. For those software it's not a big deal but I wonder if I'll be able to use apt-get properly?

Anyone use this today?

I desperately need something more integrated in the Windows environment. Alt-tabbing to the Linux VirtualBox is a bugger, seamless mode is nice but it messes up the Control or Win key now and then so I'm forced to stick in windowed. Sharing files is not exactly easy either as you have to set up mount points, and in some instances I've had files showing up as "?????" in the shell.

But the thing I most desperately want to run seamlessly in Windows is VIM, because the fonts in the Windows version are awful and fonts are all that there is to VIM's GUI :p

As for VirtualBox anyone ever found a way to alt-tab between Linux and Windows apps as if they are all from the same OS? That would make VirtualBox far more useful for development. As it is I can alt-tab to the Terminal or (Linux)Vim, but then I have to click outside to switch back to Adobe Flash or Photoshop... >_>
