Hi, I've been studying Japanese for almost a year. I've done Half of RtK, the KO 1-1110 half, and most of core 2k before getting tired of the format and deciding to farm sentences. I read that having a grasp of grammar needed for N2 will help a lot with farming native material, but I don't know what that includes. I tried Tae Kim's guide but didn't like it, and i hear it only covers up to N4 and parts of N3.

Doing some digging I found a list at tanos.co.uk that is a cumulative list for N5 to N2 (list here -> http://www.tanos.co.uk/jlpt/jlpt2/grammar/combined/ .) Will this list cover most of what I come across when reading light novels?

well even if it doesn't have all of it, worst case scenario is you look it up in yahoo dic http://dic.yahoo.co.jp/ or just google or ask someone.

Pretty much. I've run across N1 grammar points in light novels, but most are around n2 level, and you can always look it up if you see a new grammar point somewhere, like howtwosavealif3 said.
