Resources while Studying with the RTK1

Hey everyone, I am just wondering should I be learning any forms of speech or any grammer at all while studying the Kanji? I get the whole concept of linking the Kanji to English elements I grew up knowing and I love the results I am getting with the memorization of the Kanji. I am just wondering should I be practicing speech at all and learning the basics of speaking the Language...or should I just wait until I have finished the Kanji and then proceed....Or should I go in another direction completely....any help or idea's/ thoughts would be great ...also open to suggestions to learning materials that will help me with speech either now or post my Kanji studies.

ありがと、ありがと、ルイ =)

You can start learning Japanese now if you want. I liked the genki series of textbooks when I was starting out and recommend them to everyone.

You can get it here

I use Genki and I make a deck based on example sentences from Genki. This way, I combine the studying of grammar and repeating of what I've learnt while using the Genki books.

I tried Core, but found it incredibly boring compared to what I do now. It seems to make SRSing a chore rather than a tool to remember the stuff I learn...

I'd assume that the Core decks would be more useful along with the iKnow site though...
