They seem to be two different anki decks of different sizes. They use example sentences to learn vocabulary and kanji readings I think.
I'm still doing RTK though so I haven't actually used them myself.

Yeah, I believe they're from this site: iknow.jp
Which has core1000 all the way to core6000. core1000 starts you off with 1000 commonly used vocab words, and core6000 gives you 6000 vocabulary words. Each core gives you an additional 1000 vocabulary words. People have created anki decks for these cores and skip the website which is paid. I personally find the anki deck pretty dry (ie.. there's no pictures, no music no native speaker pronouncing it for you--although I didn't download all the decks maybe some have them.). You learn vocabulary and 1-2 example sentences for each and there's a native speaker that's recorded and pronounces the word and sentences. I use the site and I like it. I don't mind paying, but I got it for $6/mo. They have a game called brainspeed which is a fun way to drill the vocab you learned and also review. The sentences also introduce additional vocabulary.

The Core lists that are available on Anki are from the old version of iKnow.jp called Smart.fm.
Same words different order.
And there are anki decks with pictures, sound. Used to have it but don't anymore.
