I am curious as to how far they will take you grammar wise.
Please anyone who has finished them please tell me.

Genki gets you the basics of Japanese grammar-- how to conjugate verbs, make sentences, plus some other common constructions you will use a lot. There's also some keigo in there as well. You won't be quite ready for JLPT N4 yet, but you'll be in the ballpark for it.

You can't reach JLPT N4 grammar wise after you complete both Genki text books? I don't know much yet about the JLPT tests but I would think JLPT N4 would be pretty basic. I have the DOBJG which I guess could fill in the gaps. What if you finish Genki I & 2 plus their Integrated Approach to Intermediate Japanese? How far will the grammar sections take you on the test?

yeah, for N4 you need a little bit more than Genki 1 and G2. just a little bit.

There seems to be more grammer in Tae Kim's guide as compared to Genki. How much farther can you get if you go through all of the sections in Tae Kim? I was planning to go through it eventually.
