I use Mr. T and my wife when either one or the other makes more sense. She gets a kick out of it when I tell her the stories that involve her - and she's plenty colorful enough to give me vivid images.
My favorite: The salad princess (once upon a time) going off to fight the dragon after borrowing the gold chains from Mr. T.
Spiderman is my favorite personification so far - very helpful. Just like for person, I added a second image for 'thread' - my brother. There are so many kanji with 'thread' that it isn't a problem to have multiple images in my experience. Kind of like the Tom Hanks approach.

I used superman for part of it.
It worked flawlessly for the "chief" kanji, as perry white is superman's chief.
I also used musashi.
Sheep is luffy from one piece. Gentleman is kame from dragon ball.
Turkey is a brazilian comic actor called Mr Turkey.

I use the first girl I ever had a crush on way back as a kid.
I find the shared stories usually work fine if you substitute Mr. T or whoever, for your chosen person. At least in my case it works out fine. It's not important for the story to "make sense" so it doesn't matter that the old crush has been put in situations way out of the ordinary for her.
(My old crush, in a french maid outfit?! I'd encroach on that!)

I did use Batman for "equip" as the kanji fit that scene in Batman Begins so well. In hindsight, Batman would be a great character all around for that primitive.

Yes, Batman worked very well for me. He was the first thing that came to mind, and I'm glad he did. He works for a lot that just make a certain kind of sense (battles between Batman and Poison Ivy are Excellent, Batman is Reliant on his specialized Garments, Batman's Dwelling is fit for a Lord, Batman's servants only use mops imported from Italy, Batman has many rules for the Robins at his side), and Batman is just ridiculous enough that he works for everything else as well, in the way that Chuck Norris and Mr. T do. After all, He's Batman, and he can breathe in space...

New idea:
I'm using Hard Gay(that crazy comedian guy) instead of 'crotch'. You'd be surprised how many hilarious stories can be cooked up(and how many synonyms for his uh...298(RTK euphemism!)) Much better than thinking of 50-odd stories for 'crotch'.

You know, I often have trouble thinking of stories for things like wheat, or rice, or cocoon. Crotch? never been an issue, haha.

I'm subscribing to this topic because I'm working on Lesson 26 right now, so I'll be there shortly.
And the grammar does bother me. Please, someone fix this.

@ruisu I edited the topic title, changed "Whose" into "Who is" (hopefully the latter is correct). I don't want to be a "grammar nazi" on these boards so I usually avoid editing topic titles. But if somebody requests it I see no objection so far as it's an obvious grammar error or misspelling, I hope you don't mind too much..

I used Arnold Schwarzenegger because I couldn't think of a character myself, and the RTK blog I was using before I came here used Arnold, and I decided he was too good a character to pass up. He can be a badass action hero or a goofy and inept politician or whatever as you see fit... he's a very flexible guy.

Having just spent the past 4 days blowing through all 7 Harry Potter books, my person is Dumbledore. It works well, especially if you incorporate other characters from it into the stories.

7 Books in 4 days. We won't need to start some sort of intervention will we?
I just finished the section with the kanji for going. I took a stab at associating the primitive with a character. It works wonders. I'm actually getting excited to learn Kanji.
Anyone else find that weird.

I think I'm going to use a dwarf...
I don't like being too specific because it restricts the range of possible stories. A dwarf can do everything normal people do. But it's more fun. Especially if one has a cruel sense of humor.
(apologies to any dwarf reading this)

When I was going through RTK1, my "person" was Voldemort from the Harry Potter series, which worked really well since my "taskmaster" was Snape.

I've been using Solid Snake, but I'm not sure if it's working yet. I'll report back at a later time.
