Hi, there.
I was kinda wondering... Is there really no app version of the 研究社 新英和大辞典?
I mean - all the denshi jisho have it by default and yet an app version does not seem to be available or is it? xD

You could also get it in EPWING format and use it with an EPWING dictionary app like EBPocket Pro.
Only the two most expensive of Casio's models (9800 and 10000) have it as a dictionary, so it certainly isn't on all denshi jishos by default.

Kinda sad that buying entire new dictionary device costs less than an iPhone app...

You can buy the 大 version on a CD for 10,000 yen at Bic Camera for use with the Casio Dataplus denshi jisho. That's how I got it. (it may have been 12,000, it's been 4-5 months.) Casio makes a bunch of special dictionary CDs just for its own denshi jisho, though, and this one was totally worth the punch in the wallet. It's awesome.
But it only works with their dataplus line of denshi jisho. (Not that I think that that's particularly bad-- the dataplus is a solid d.j., but you'll have to shell out some yen for it.)

Thank you very much for your answers.
Well..., seems like I will have to content myself with the medium version then.
(think there is an app for that=).

meh, I've just graduated from Iphone edict-based "Japanese" and "Kotoba" apps and just bought myself the Casio XD-D10000. £400 though :o
I guess I don't actually need all that right now, but I figure it's a solid investment. I know someone with the AD9800 and it just makes me drool XD
