I picked up a Logitech Squeezebox radio a while back, because I like the form factor. The sound is good enough for me, and with the battery, it's highly portable. It's a little buggy, but I can live with it. The portability is the important part for me. I can lug it all over the house, unlike my PC; my laptop has awful sound, and I don't want to carry it around the house, either; and I don't want to wear headphones all day if I don't have to.
Naturally, the podcast thread has been very useful in adding podcasts I can just listen to right from their RSS feed podcast player, but what I'm really looking for are good sources for streaming Japanese audio, preferably news. (But I will take what I can get.)
There are NHK streams listed on the device, but they're all in everything *but* Japanese, or so it seems, and in order to access any Japanese content on NHK, you need to be 国内, which doesn't work for those of us who are overseas.
I have managed to find some of the smaller stations, like MID-FM in Nagoya, the station in Okazaki, and a few others, but I'm not having any luck finding anything that will work for the major media outlets. (Especially Tokyo.)
Am I just out of luck, or should I just bite the bullet and set up a JP proxy? And if so, are there any proxy services you all would recommend based on experience?
