Anki - text extraction and card creation

#1
Hello,
I'm curious if there's an existing tool which can extract japanese words from a text file which has both latin and kana/kanji characters in it? I'd next like to be able to compare those words with already existing ones in an anki deck and only add new ones, along with their edict translations.
Does such a tool exist? The hard part to me seems automating the first thing, where words are recognized, but I guess it already exists in form of the firefox browser plugin (rikaichan), I could probably do the comparing part myself.

The reason I'm interested in this is because I already know quite a lot of words, therefor finding few unknown ones as I read, and I'd like to be able to add those unknown ones to my deck before I read the entire text, for easier understanding. The other reason is that the text I'd like parsed is mostly meant for computers (translation file) because I'm having trouble seeing the radicals in the actual computer output, probably due to poor font choice (example text here, some post I googled: http://forums.wesnoth.org/download/file....&mode=view) and as it can't be selected, so it's kinda annoying to deal with.
Thanks in advance!
