I have taken just a single simple course on Japanese language at the beginning. I learnt the kana and counting and few simple expressions that are found in the first half or so of Japanese for Busy People I. This book was recommended by the teacher so I continued on and also bought the books II and III. I have also finished book II.
What I wish to know is what would you recommend after the book III is finished. I intend to do the JPLT. What books do you recommend I finish for that, provided I intend to do level 2 test.
Has anyone around here used the book 3?

I have learnt about Anki and Kinji Odyssey from this forum and I am very thankful to everyone for that. I wish to know about Kanzen Master Series, what is this? And how many books are there in it?

i'd recommend doing a subs2srs deck of something simple that you really like... because as much as those books are useful they are super boring. I did them and kanzen master grammar for JLPT 3 and 2, and its a tough slog... Plus you don't really retain it anyway because its not SRS'd.

Japanese for busy people 3 is about JLPT 4, with some of the grammar from 3 maybe. Next you want to look at an intermediate textbook, like an integrated approach to Japanese, or something similar. Have a look on the JLPT website at the test questions if you want an idea of where you are at.

I am so glad that I read this thread. Go Canada!
I was seriously wondering if I could justify buying Sentence Patterns for one hundred dollars since it sounds like a really useful book. And now I don't have to.
