Living? Life? Just wondering
lardycake Wrote:Used to ask myself this question every single day. I still do often.I also went through something like this. Got over it by embracing either nihilism or a form of existentialism, not really sure which. I could do some research and reflection to find out exactly which one it was, but I don't give enough of a ***** to do even that
I found that by embracing nihilism it got the weight off my shoulders a bit, basically I stopped giving a ***** (in a good way).
[if you get to the point you feel its worth living regardless, at least that's something

Raschaverak Wrote:Living? Life? Just wonderingReminds me of a poem by Dorothy Parker (via Stephen Fry)
Quote:Razors pain you;I often wonder about these things myself. Life is "meaningless", yes, but whether this seems like a good or a bad thing depends on your mood. If you are happy, the meaningless of life gives you freedom to create your own meaning (like existentialists like to say). If you are sad, life being meaningless makes you feel hopeless.
Rivers are damp;
Acids stain you;
And drugs cause cramp;
Guns aren't lawful;
Nooses give;
Gas smells awful;
You might as well live.

Raschaverak Wrote:Ah, I see, this has turned into a rather philosophical question. Thanks, for the answers, I guess everyone has to find their purpose for living. Oh yeah, I'm on medication for depression, now, and at the time of the opening of the post, I was feeling a bit down...You should listen to any type of music that motivates you(get's you pumped up). It helps no matter what(or maybe it's just me?).
But if anything, the feeling of the pump (extra blood flow to the muscles) makes it always worth it!
Raschaverak Wrote:Living? Life? Just wonderingDear friend. Take heart! Simple answer to your question is indeed life is worth living =D
