They can be used to make mole people in arts and craft. There are some many more memories of seeing them at places visits, seeing them in stories, etc...

Katakana words can be written in Hiragana, but for curry it was hard to determine. The quotation was only used to indicated the last character.

Umm, sorry but I have no idea what you're trying to say here. What does hiragana have to do with anything? We both used katakana. And you didn't just indicate the last character, you changed it...:/

ー　is used as substitute for a word in あ行. When writing in Haragana ー isn't used. カレー ⇔　カリー is only to say that the two words are the same word. The word next in sequence after カレー was 医学博士　（いがくはくし）. カレー was mentally changed to かれい, with isn't that much to worry about.

^Very confusing! Is ー some kind of あ行 wildcard in しりとり？ I don't see otherwise how え could change to い
