My desk is near a door that is opened and closed hundreds of times a day, and it's noisy and annoying. You need to swipe your employee card, it beeps, then slams shut behind you. That's when it's working properly, which it often doesn't. In my chorei next week, I want to ask "Why can't we just keep it open?".
It's the "just" I want to get across. I want to convey my sense of exasperation, but also my understanding also that even though it is such a simple solution and would make life easier for everyone, there is absolutely zero chance of it happening. The 'just' does it perfectly in the English sentence. What's the Japanese equivalent?
I've got 開けっぱなしにすればいいんじゃないですか, which is pretty lame. Can anyone beat that? I'll choose the best and let you know how it went.

ただ、開けっ放しにしといたら、この問題がないはずでしょうか?
Sounds a bit arrogant tho like if we just left it open we wouldn't have this problem in the first place.

If I am reading your comment correctly, there is a requirement for the use of a security card to enter the door. Keeping the door open defeats the purpose of using security system. A better suggestion would to explain the problem with the door. Hopefully, they will repair the door, or suggest why it can't be at this time. Maybe, you could investigate into what the problem is, showing your employee that you are proactive in solving problems. I understand your frustration with the noise. However, there seems to be an importance of keep the door close and using a security.

As Omoishinji says, asking why you can't just leave an access control door open would only make you look naive infront of your coworkers/superiors. You are better off just asking to be moved away from the door because the distraction is affecting your concentration/work efficiency.

そもそも閉めんでええんじゃねえか。
Just kidding, of course. Probably a fairly gentle and non-confrontational way to ask would be something like 開けっ放しにすればどうでしょうか。, but you'd of course want a lead-in bringing up and explaining what the problem is before jumping into a proposed solution.
I think Omoishinji and Jarvik are probably right though. It's a security door and security doors aren't supposed to be propped open.

If it opens hundreds of times a day, it's just as bad as not having a door in the first place. It's trivial for anyone to enter whenever they want. The OP might indeed be correct that the door isn't needed, and is just a timewaster for everyone involved. I think simply asking about it couldn't hurt in those circumstances... It might even save the company money!
However, if the OP has exagerated and it only opens a couple times an hour, then it probably really is serving a purpose and shouldn't be messed with.
