Japanese speech recognition software

#1
Since I have a pretty bad case of tendinosis (it took the G.P. and physiotherapist three years to give me a proper diagnosis and treatment program >:0) , but type in Japanese quite a lot (e.g. Skype, Lang-8, penpals, Amazon searches etc.), I thought it would be a good idea to invest in a speech recognition program. For English I have already started using Dragon NaturallySpeaking, which is decent.

So far I've found three Japanese speech recognition programs:
-Dragon NaturallySpeaking Japanese
-ami voice
-Julius

I think I'll pass on Julius as it looks like you have to do a lot of work yourself to get it to work, and I don't really feel like wasting my arms on that as I'm not exactly tech savvy.
But if anyone has experience with either the Japanese version of Dragon NaturallySpeaking and/or ami voice, please let me knowSmile

I'm trying to stay away from the computer as much as possible as my arms have really gone haywire atm, so I might not respond right away, for that I apologize.

The Japanese NaturallySpeaking hasn't been updated for six years, and the reviews aren't outstanding. I haven't heard of Julius, but AmiVoice has some good reviews (I learnt the word どんぴしゃり from reading them). Again, I haven't used it, but considering the iPhone version of Dragon Dictation is relatively usable, I imagine it would be half decent if your accent is passable.

As for the tendinitis diagnosis, I wouldn't be too content with that. Along with RSI, bursitis, CTS etc, tendinitis is a pretty weak description of a much wider problem. I'd be especially sceptical if they've only considered your hands/wrists, and if you're regularly taking any pain meds, I'd look closely into their side-effects, as well. If you aren't already, I'd start looking at things like anti-inflammatory diet, posture correction, flexibility training, neuromuscular retraining, stress management, respiratory therapy, cardiovascular exercise and anything else that can improve your overall health, fitness and well-being.

If you allow yourself to be sucked into the narrow minded, atomistic viewpoint of modern medicine, which has a disgraceful track record for treating just about any form of chronic pain, and does little more than facilitate a booming drugs industry and recommend dangerous, unnecessary, ineffective surgeries, you'll likely be at the mercy of your progressively increasing pain for the rest of your life. It took me about six years to come to this realisation, and I hope you can nip this problem in the bud before it really starts taking over your life.

Thank you for your reply.
I just tried Dragon dictation for the iPad and it's actually pretty good!
In case someone else is interested in downloading it and trying it out,
I'll post a little snippet of text that I " wrote" with it, alongside a recording of my voice at that moment, at the end of this post, to demonstrate how accurate it can be despite my accent being really bad.
I'll probably still save up for AmiVoice as it indeed seems like the better one of the two, though.

Well, my GP and physiotherapists seem to be quite the opposite. They never mentioned anything about operations or really strong drugs. The only thing I take when the pain gets really bad is a bit of melatonin, as it helps with the pain. And I only take it at night so I can at least get some sleep.
My first physiotherapist was pretty much useless. He had just learned the technique of dry needling. So he was very enthusiastic about trying his techniques out on his patients. Although I'm sure it will help some people, it did nothing for me. And so he pretty much gave up on me. I repeatedly asked him whether I should do any weight lifting or specific exercises and such, but he discouraged me from doing so.

The second one made me do weightlifting, but they're only exercises for my wrists. And although it greatly helps, I think I'm going to pretty much get my entire upper body in shape as I do believe that it's not just my wrists that are causing this pain. After a month or so, I stopped seeing this physiotherapist though, because he told me there was nothing he could do for me anymore(he pretty much sent me away). So basically I'm on my own again.
I haven't heard about the anti-inflammatory diet, but I took a quick look at it on some sites and my diet already looks a lot like the anti-inflammatory diet. Maybe I should stop eating my daily piece of chocolate and cookies though :p, other than that I guess food wise I'm all set. I have started taking extra vitamins and such though. And I got an elliptical for cardiovascular exercise (bad knees/hips prevent me from doing much else:/).

I'll check out the other suggestions as well, because at this point I'm willing to try anything!

Anyway here's a little bit I wrote with Dragon dictation and the accompanying voice clip.
please excuse the caveman Japanese speak.
