It was actually quite lovely, very intimate.
In Takamatsu (香川県) I had to couchsurf as there are no youth hostels, and she was one of the people I sent a couch request to. She couldn't take me, but she offered to guide me around town instead. I took up the offer and she drove me all around town; we had lots of laughs, went to karaoke, then went and watched the sunset where I cuddled up with her. The next day we met up again, went to dinner, then went to a park afterwards. We were sitting at a bench kissing, then she said she was cold and insisted we go back to her car. I don't need to say what happened next.
Obviously I didn't say it was my first time, just acted naturally.
Anyway, she was a complete sweetheart and I probably would have dated her had I the opportunity. In Tokyo I met up with a friend I made on SharedTalk for the first time and we really hit it off. She asked me to date her, so I'll be going out with her when I go back. Admittedly, there were lots of girls on the trip whom I had a thing for.

There are practically no Japanese people (in particular, cute girls) in Adelaide, which sucks. Also it just sucks being back in my old life.

I think I ended up spending around $5~6, 000AUD while I was there in the end. I was meant to WWOOF the last week I was there, but went travelling around Hokkaido instead, which ended up costing an extra $800 or so. Note that I also went out a lot (eating out, drinking, karaoke etc), and sightseeing a lot too, so that cost quite a bit (although my Japanese friends shouted me half of the time :p).
But yeah, I just stayed at youth hostels the whole way, always caught buses and never trains between cities, didn't buy any souvenirs, books, anything like that and just saved money where I could.

Like I said in my earlier posts, I WWOOFed for around half of the trip, which includes free accommodation and food, so that saved me a load of money. I also had some of my most enjoyable times WWOOFing, it provided an essential break from just constantly travelling.

I think you could get by on €3,000 for 2 months and still have a good time if you WWOOFed a bit.

What do you know, you and I have a mutual friend.

How did you meet Jadey?

Honestly I'm having a hard time meeting people via couch surf. Maybe I should set my city to Chicago instead of the shitty little suburb I live in.

I stayed at one of the Khaosan hostels, and as you might know they also run the 'Khaosan bar'. We met there one night, then I went along to some clubs in Shibuya with her afterwards. Where'd you meet her, Tasuichi? You might also know Reina as well?

I met her in Yoyogi Park once. She goes to my university.

Nah, I don't know anyone called Reina. :3

Ah okay, that sounds like Jadey, accosting people in the park :p
Reina worked at the Khaosan bar, but her and Jadey go out drinking every now and then, you should join them.

Looks like you've had a amazing trip. After I'm done school I might just take a 3 month visa and visit there. Definitely need to buy a digital camera (HD)

Nice, thanks. Shimauta, a nice cheezy name perfectly fitting an Okinawan restaurant (and, of course, reminds me of this song:
)

Incidentally, my favorite restaurant in Japan is another Okinawan place in Osaka, but if I ever want a change I'll check out this one. Looks fun. I also know three pretty good Okinawan places in Kyoto that do live shows most nights.
