Edit: Looking at the original, it seems #2 refers to Japan charity type stuff, and #3 might better be translated as ‘attention whore’ rather than ‘drama queen’—a subtle but important distinction. ^_^

Coincidentally, those are the same reasons I stop following or defriend people as well.

Actually, it's a pretty big distinction in my book. Drama queens cause drama everywhere they go, effectively turning the light on other people so they can watch. Attention whores do whatever they can to shine the light on themselves.

But perhaps neither is a perfect translation of that they meant originally and it's a mix of those?

I wonder why "I stopped following everyone and got a real life" isn't on the list?

The original is "かまってちゃんツイートを連投", and google gives us some definitions:

Is this one of those questions where you know the answer i.e. know why they did it, but beg to differ on some finer point i.e. related to their rationale, and want to have someone answer your question on the former as a kind of intro before the latter discussion? ;p If so, can we just skip that part?

Sorry, I just assumed you knew what “gal moji” (ギャル文字) was, but I guess I don't actually know how experienced you are. You can find “gal moji” on Google, also.
