Hi. I came across this by accident and found out that the people here sure knows their stuff very well. I think I'll anchor myself here for the time being.

I have this problem of mixing up and having a problem in differentiating between に from には as in 東京に and 東京には. How different are they? In what situations do we use には?
Can you include some examples for me in order to understand them clearly? Thanks a lot.

I guess we had a topic on the forum covering this question. Although I cannot find it, I remember, the difference was in emphasis (like: IN Kyoto vs. in KYOTO). Perhaps checking out DBJG would help?

は marks the topic of the sentence
に marks the location

They can be combined.

You will be able to instinctively differentiate them as you get used to the language. That's why many people here follow the sentence method.

試験を受けるからには、頑張るしかない。
Since I'm taking the test, I'll have to do my best.

and if I were to omit には , 試験を受けるから、頑張るしかない, would it change the meaning of the sentence much or just the nuance only? Thanks.

からには as seen above is an expression and means "now that; since; as long; because".
Your translation is quite correct, I'd say; the meaning wouldn't change completely. But perhaps you could rather use "there is nothing else left then trying hard" for 頑張るしかない to make the ～しかない part more clear/visible in your translation, right.
