I think the corePLUS deck has sentences for just the Core 2K, 6K, and KO2001 vocabulary, but it also links to the Tangorin.com site for Tatoeba sentences. You can also use the Tatoeba Anki plug-in to get example sentences for non-Core words. Maybe rachels can confirm this.

To search for all the cards that have a non-empty 'sentence' field use the search
sentence:_*
or
sentence:_* tag:JLPT1 for just the for JLPT1 words which have example sentences.
In fact, since only the Core6000 words have sentences, just use tag:CORE instead of sentence:_*
To use the deck as a sentence deck, you will have to, of course, make a new card model, but that is easily done. It depends on what kind of sentence deck you want - reading sentences, producing, listening and understanding?

If you want to sort the cards/sentences as discussed in this thread
http://forum.koohii.com/showthread.php?tid=5091
so that you can work from sentences with a few, more common kanji and gradually add new kanji,
use the fields 'ko2001-index' or 'rtkliteko2001-index' fields, provided by cangy in the original spreadsheets. See the above thread for more details, but basically, in the browser sort on one of the index fields, from lowest to highest. Then use the shared plugin called reset creation times to resort the tag:CORE cards in the order of the chosen index field. If you have them in the right order and give them a range of dates earlier than all the other cards in the deck (eg 2009) they should appear as new cards in the right order. Do backup well first.

I'm not sure how to answer this better, since I'm not sure what kind of sentence deck you want, but I hope it is of some help.

Wow thank you so much, this was very helpful. I will use tag CORE and sort it.

That plugin sounds cool. so i just use the core tag, and delete all the non sentence cards, than sort by ko2000 then recreate them with the plugin?

The plug-in will re-order cards, so probably you need to create a new bunch of cards from your new model first, then use the plug-in to sort them. No need to re-sort the cards in the original model - I wasn't very clear there. Its optional whether you keep the cards/facts from the original model - depends whether you have started or will use them. Each fact can have one or more cards made from it. The deck in its starting form only has one (Vocabulary model) card for each fact.
So
- optionally delete or suspend unwanted (non-CORE cards/facts)
- make a new model
- select the tag:CORE facts
- create new cards from the CORE facts using your new model
- optionally delete or suspend the old model Core cards (selected by ' tag:CORE tag:Vocabulary)
- use recreate creation times plugin on the new cards 'tag:CORE tag:newsentencemodel namewhateveritis'

One complication I have discovered is that when you create a new model, the audio download plug-in may no longer work. This is fixed by adding a vocabulary (with a small v) tag to each card. It is confusing and possibly problem causing that I have the Vocabulary model name so similar to the tag needed to make the audio download program work. I might change the Vocabulary model name next time I need to re-post the deck.

One possibly simpler option to consider, is just editing the existing model to your liking. But this will keep your progress on those words. You can reschedule them to new if you like.

Also, you can put your own sentences into the empty sentence fields, if you like, using sentences you encounter elsewhere or using (in desktop anki) 'Tools, Lookup, expression on alc...' or something like the tatoeba plugin, or there is a link to basically the same sentences at the tangorin site in the cards. Latter 2 are from tanaka corpus. There is also another plugin called something like 'example sentences' which you can look into. Might as well work through the sentences you've already got first though. You could also directly import more sentences from the shared 'Japanese Core 10000 with audio.anki' deck. Or study sentences directly from that deck (minus the sorting by kanji).. Or if you don't currently want the extra 4000 words/sentences or the extra corePlus words and fields you you work from the Core 2k/6k decks posted by Nukemarine - already pre-sorted by the sentence kanji, I think.

Thank you very much! I was able to do this! Thanks a lot!!!

Also, how do you search for cards that have no sentence via anki?

you showed:

sentence:_*

but if I wanted the opposite how would it be? (select all cards that the Sentence field is null?)
