I keep hearing this line of reasoning and it just blows me away at how crazy it sounds.

Students even in wealthy countries rarely make $10/hour, but I will use this figure for simplicity sake. It would take 100 hours to pay for S.S. (much more actually considering taxes, work related costs, etc) if you are forking out the average of $1,000 for his book, and staying with parents incurring no living expenses.

Students are often money-constrained rather than time-constrained.

For a time-constrained individual who's time-sold is worth more than someone else's time-charged, then different rules apply. So if He can pay someone $20 for something that would take himself 3 hours, and then sell his own time to someone else at $100/hour, then, well, I guess what I'm saying is that not everyone is in the same situation.

595 - 100 = 495 not 465 Smile

Also as your precisely 1 day sempai I would like to let you know that day 102 is another "day of rest". Big Grin

Thanks for posting your blog though. It's nice to see someone else having a very similar experience. Also the part about taking an article and pasting it into the RevTK reader to visualize your progress is brilliant!

so true, I have a lot of time for the next few years, so Japanese will be completely done for me soon(fluency) but I'm thinking of ways of earning money(online business, etc). We gotta think outside the box in order to succeed
