vocabulary Jap-Eng Eng-Jap ?

#1
So I'm trying to add about 30 new vocabulary words a day. I don't seem to have much problem learning Japanese-> to English but for some reason it takes me much longer to learn English(keyword)-> to Japanese. Should I just learn Japanese->English then over time hope that I can remember the reverse.
In other words I know that ...
夏 (なつ)is summer
but have trouble remembering
summer is 夏

Thanks

We're talking about anki right?

I only do Japanese to English and sometimes Japanese to Japanese when I study grammar or things like Kanken.

Well I take a list of words from a book or word I heard "in the wild". I write them on paper fold it over with japanese on one side English on the other. I drill that list all day(intervals). Then the next day I put it in anki.
I have no problem when I see the Japanese word remembering the English counter part but will just draw a blank when I see the English word and try to recall the Japanese.

I think in general it is harder to learn English -> Japanese.

Whether to do it or not depends on what your goals are, if it's just reading and listening in the short term then I think you can leave it. If you want to be able to say it in a conversation then I would learn it.
