aphasiac Wrote:IceCream Wrote:Living in society is so tiring... it seems there's always someone that has some kind of problem with how they perceive you to be... too loud, too quiet, too confident, not confident enough, disrespectful, too late, too slow at learning, generally annoying, too argumentative, inconsiderate, no common sense, can't even cut an apple properly, too interested in everything, and even being happy and optimistic annoys some people!
I wouldn't care if it wasn't for the fact that people take all of these things seriously and then end up hating you over some petty thing that you probably never even noticed...
The secret here is of course to learn not to worry about people's opinions / perceptions of you. Even if someone does "hate" you (which is unlikely, as hate is a strong emotion and takes alot to make someone feel like that), it shouldn't matter as long as you're confident in yourself and what you're doing. It's their problem not yours!
hahah thanks aphasiac
yeah, i don't really mean hate, it's just a word... hate, annoyed, vague dislike, it's all pretty much the same to me lol.
yeah, it's good not to worry about what people think, but then... you can't exactly show up 4 hours late for work and go, "well, that's just me, sleep's important to me yo". Same thing, if your boss thinks your disrespectful or whatever, it's not good.
Even then, if people you find generally reasonable and good people end up disliking you, what should you do? It's easy to say "don't worry", but so hard to lose friends... especially if it's something you can just change.
i guess it's difficult to give advice over the internet, because you don't know what people're really like in real life, whether they're actually bad people that should change, or just if it's them thinking too much i guess. Even for myself, i don't know which it is most of the time lol!
ahhhh well. lifelifelife...山もあり谷もあり...だよねー!
